It is available in 2, 3, 4, and 5-ton models. The XR16 features a Spine Fin™ condenser coil and a two-stage Climatuff™ compressor, providing enhanced energy efficiency and consistent comfort. This Trane XR16 heat pump replaced the Trane XR17 heat pump due to the SEER2 conversion in 2023. The features and efficiency of the Trane XR16 are largely identical with minor improvements, but the XR16 is rated using the DOE’s new method.
