This system’s two-stage operation offers flexible comfort, ensuring your home remains comfortable year-round. Stage one operates at 67% of full capacity which extracts more humidity by extending run times. An over-sized Spine Fin™ condenser coil gives it the ability to cool every room to the right temperature efficiently. Trane’s proprietary demand defrost calls for a heat pump defrost cycle only when needed, greatly boosting heating efficiency beyond what is indicated by its HSPF2 rating. The XL17i is designed to withstand various climate conditions, making it a dependable choice for any homeowner seeking performance and durability.

This Trane XL17i heat pump replaced the Trane XL18i heat pump due to the SEER2 conversion in 2023.
